A social experience centered around giving voice backto end users!
We are laying the foundation for a cultural movement that reimagines how we choose to use AI. Our vision is to break down systemic injustices in AI through a fostered community of users, businesses, policy makers, and researchers. Everyone’s voice must be heard.

There’s a huge opportunity for AI systems to break down systemic injustices
We are a diverse group of end-users centered around underinvested communities adjacent to tech hubs, bringing a much-needed equity lens to ethical AI practices. Our focus will be centered around the economy, climate, health, human rights, privacy, accessibility, racial bias, and education in the context of AI. Accountability is key in addressing what we need.
Education
Students can benefit from AI through personalized learning experiences, adaptive feedback, and enhanced comprehension of complex subjects. However, concerns about over-reliance on AI for teaching, loss of direct human interaction, loss of creativity, and potential biases in AI-generated content may pose challenges and impact the learning experience. Black and Brown students are more likely to face punishment in schools for cheating due to unfair monitoring of proctor software. Diversity is vital to AI’s success in the educational and the historical data input as well.
Racial Bias
AI can perpetuate racial bias by reflecting and amplifying existing societal prejudices present in the data it's trained on, leading to unfair and discriminatory outcomes for marginalized racial groups. Conversely, AI has the potential to mitigate racial bias by raising awareness, enabling bias detection and correction tools, and encouraging greater diversity and inclusivity in AI development teams to challenge and rectify biases.
The Economy
The rise of AI has brought about job displacement, with an estimated 25 million jobs at risk of automation by 2030 according to the World Economic Forum. Black Americans are geographically removed from future job growth centers and more likely to be concentrated in areas of job decline. We are here to explore how to future-proof our careers by acquiring AI-related skills, engaging in dialogue on labor issues and exploring opportunities for AI collaboration to remain relevant in the evolving job market.
Human rights
AI can affect whether someone gets a home loan, or is identified as a criminal. Add to that the threats of swaying undecided voters, surveillancing, credit worthiness and discriminatory algorithms reinforcing biases in marginalized vulnerable communities. On the positive side, with holding AI systems accountable, AI can aid in identifying violations, and amplify the global advocacy efforts for a more just and equitable world.
Health
Black and Brown communities have less access to healthcare and worse health outcomes due to medical racism. End users stand to benefit from AI through improved diagnosis, personalized treatment plans, resilient workforce infrastructures, and quality healthcare accessibility. Conversely, concerns about data privacy, algorithm biases, and overreliance on technology may pose challenges and affect trust in healthcare systems, underscoring the need for careful implementation and ethical considerations in AI applications.
Climate
Addressing climate change in AI offers hope and caution. The energy-intensive nature of AI, if not powered sustainably, could exacerbate carbon emissions and environmental degradation, underscoring the critical need for responsible AI deployment in the fight against climate crisis. We need to work together to find potential solutions to the pressing challenges of climate change.
Privacy
Unfortunately, many governments aren’t implementing the technologies necessary to protect your personal information, which compromises your privacy and security. In Black and Brown communities, heightened surveillance using tools like facial recognition increases social harm and program flaws. Individuals are looking for ways to restrict the amount of data shared to services, clear transparency, full control over data, and confidentiality and awareness.
Accessibility
One in six people experience disabilities. The social case for improving the digital experiences of those with disabilities can provide equal access to products and services and reinforce their independence and equality.
